Solidarity with the new resistance movement in Iran (13 Aban)

November 3, 2009 English

Information meeting at the Free University (FU) Berlin

On Wednesday, November 4 2009, the opposition in Iran will go back to the streets in mass. This day, the 13th Aban in the Persian calendar, is symbolically an important anniversary. 31 years ago, shortly before the 1979 revolution, the military of the former monarch killed several students on the campus of Tehran University at their protest meeting. 30 years ago, the very first anniversary of that was followed by an attack to the American embassy in the post-revolutionary Iran.

In this event we will inform about the background of the protest movement in Iran. In addition to lectures, we show videos of the protests taken place in the recent weeks, particularly in the universities of Tehran as well as showing some live videos of the expected protests on November 4 2009. We will inform students, which can take important steps in order to support the movement in Iran, without investing a lot of time.
